The World Social Forum on Health and Social Security aims to dialogue with the world civil society committed to the struggle for the human right to health and social security, considered as public goods, opposing the neoliberal discourse and practice that place it in the field of services, transforming it into a profit-generating commodity. It defends a social protection system that includes civil, social, economic and environmental security. In this way, from an active perspective, the FSMSSS intends to be an enabling space for political advocacy strategies, used and nurtured by civil society , so that the materiality of the right to expanded social protections is claimed and democracy is actively exercised by the population . It works, therefore, through projects that foster and articulate civil society networks involving trade union organizations, the third sector, popular, cultural, environmental movements and the academic community, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean, through critical training of actors and providing inputs and structure so that advocacy strategies are better formulated.
